
DR KATHERINE EASTON
Kat is a social psychologist in the School of Education at the University of Sheffield, UK. She conducts research to explore the potential benefits and unintended harms of innovative digital technologies, like apps, social media, games, and artificially intelligent systems. She is particularly interested in the ways in which technology can impact people’s emotional and social wellbeing. She has collaborated with lots of different organisations over the past 2 decades including national mental health charities, international industry partners, small tech companies, regional councils , the NHS and schools.
DR RICHY COOK
Dr Richy Cook has worked in the education and digital technology sectors for twenty years. In 2017 he was the first researcher to explore how artificially intelligent voice assistants could be used in school classrooms by students and found that there were pros and cons. Richy has continued to be curious about educational technologies and is now focused on how people behave and interact when using digital technologies and what this means for their wellbeing and mental health. In conjunction with the Digiware project he is also researching ‘buy-now-pay-later’ software and what debt means to young people in relation to their wellbeing. Richy also lectures on an MSc in Data Science & AI where he teaches Research Methods in Computing and Ethics of AI modules.
MOJO CREATIVE
Mojo is a creative partnership that helps people tell their stories. They present stories in a professional, accessible way. Mojo makes books, magazines, films and animations. They build brands and run campaigns that include logos, websites and social media. At the heart of all Mojo's work is people and people’s stories - they work with all sorts of people with a story to tell. Recently Mojo has worked with: older people; those experiencing homelessness; disabled adults and children; young people in schools; people with mental health issues – and many more. The Creative Directors of Mojo are Rob Pritchard and Tom Bailey. Rob’s background is as a designer, film-maker and artist. Tom is an artist and creative facilitator who uses the arts to inspire people to express themselves. Rob and Tom work together on every project, steering the creative direction and managing a team of freelance artists, facilitators, photographers and designers.
