Digiware is an ongoing, collaborative research programme led by The University of Sheffield, to explore young people's knowledge of, and views on, the use of smart technologies in education and the school environment. You can learn more about our partners, collaborators and funders here'.

Digital technologies, and their presence in our everyday life is increasing at a rapid rate. Schools are looking to harness the benefits of these technologies and as they do the school environment is changing. A student in the UK spends an average of 35 hours a week in school, and so, its important for anyone involved in education to explore how these changes are impacting on young people.

In a recent national survey 78% of young people aged 13-25years old said that school had made their mental health worse and 96% reported that their mental health had affected their school work at some point (Mind, 2021).

It’s time to start finding out what students know about digital technologies, and, importantly, how the use of digital in their school makes them feel.
